Rick and Kerry Wright have worked in and around the car business for much of their lives. Rick worked at Western Auto in high school. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Rick went to Manhattan Christian College where he met Kerry. They started their married lives in Abilene, KS, serving in a couple different churches for about 4 years, the two then moved to Colorado to be Church Planters. While there, Rick started selling cars at a 9 franchise store in Durango. Since then, Rick and Kerry have served in many different vocations, ministries, businesses, and in and around the auto industry both in Durango and NE Kansas In 2006, Rick met Jay Uhlrich through a business contact and they became fast friends. Since that time, Jay and Rick have continued a business and personal relationship, and along with their wives, Lori and Kerry, they decided to work together and develop a car dealership unlike all others..... and so they did!!! Freedom Autos Sales has been in business since 2016.

“The Car Whisperer”
Jay Uhlrich has been a valued friend, advisor, buyer, consultant, and just about every other kind of asset imaginable to Rick and Kerry and Freedom Auto Sales. He is affectionately known as "The Car Whisperer". Jay's dad owned Uhlrich Chevrolet from 1955-1973, and Jay has been directly involved in the auto sales industry in multiple capacities since 1985. When asked about his education, he says "I have a PhD in the automobile industry. Papa Had Dealership"! He and his wife Lori have one daughter Rylee, and have enjoyed life in Topeka together. Jay and Lori have been married since 1987.

Founders
Rick is a Veteran, having served in the Army from 1986-1990 and then, for a brief period in 1991 during Desert Storm, when he was recalled. He served on M1A1 Abrams tanks and was stationed in Germany. Kerry grew up in Durango, CO. She worked in the family business helping make dovetail drawers and in a soil/water analysis lab. She then attended Manhattan Christian College where she met Rick. They were married June 18th, 1994. Kerry homeschooled their children and was a stay at home wife until opening Freedom Auto Sales. They have three adult children, Josiah and his wife Brandilynn whom have 3 children and live in Kentucky, Caleb and his wife Jessica whom have 3 children and live in Topeka and Joy, also from Topeka, who enjoys serving and working wherever God calls her.

Caleb and Jessica Wright both grew up in NE Kansas and were raised to work hard and seek God. They were married in 2019 and have 3 children (Nichole, Logan and Sophia). Their whole family fills several rolls at Freedom Auto Sales. "We love living life together and are passionate about teaching and encouraging others to do the same."
Art Auld
Veteran & Team Member
Art Auld is a valuable part of our Freedom team! Art is Vietnam Veteran, is a Freedom lover, and enjoys working with people. He has lived in Topeka 10 years. He has a 35 year career in Carpet sales, 20 years of ministry, and is semi-retired. Art enjoys Southern Gospel Music, bibles studies, his dog Dottie, baseball, great cuisine, and carpet cleaning. Art owns and operates Dry Guy Carpet Cleaning. We are blessed to have him here at Freedom Auto Sales.
